Question: How is Online Therapy affected by jurisdictional issues?

Answer: We encourage members to work with their Associations and Boards to include on-line therapy within their scope of practice. Additionally, seek to update jurisdictional laws so they address the growing expectations of people who are seeking on-line, distance therapy from professionals, even when the public seeks therapeutic services from outside their state, province, territory, region or country.

Membership in www.IMAGEFaceToFace.com does not imply you have a right to carry on business in any particular state, province, territory, region or country. You need to check with your Professional Association or Board to determine what your restrictions are when you are providing services on-line.

Question: Are there insurance companies that cover professional services conducted over the internet?

Answer: Insurance companies are recognizing the need for professionals to offer their services in an on-line environment. Contact your Association, Board, Insurance Provider or Broker for assistance in making sure you have the coverage necessary for the areas you want to offer your services. Question: When offering on-line services to my distance clients, how can I respond ethically to an urgent crisis with my client?

Answer: Respond as you would if you received an urgent call from your current client if they were not present with you. One way of preparing for this possibility is that you set up an emergency/urgent alternate contact number when you take your initial intake information. This will allow you to have an option if you sense your client is in need of urgent intervention. Question: How secure is the FaceToFaceGlobal.com conferencing room
