Remaining Neutral Regarding Right and Wrong
In this video, I focus on therapeutic situations where the idea exists that no one is right and no one is wrong and it's all a matter of perspective. For example, when clients wish to remain neutral in the events that have affected their lives, but clearly they have been taken advantage of because of this belief. How do you, as a mental health professional, handle this situation? Conflict exists; the client sits across from you and really can't decide right from wrong, looking to you for clarity.
In this edition of The Effective Therapist, I talk about the perception of right and wrong and how it plays out in the therapy practice.
With you in mind,
Norm

| From the Client's Perspective with Darlene Ouimet |
|
I'm Not Saying its Right or Wrong...
When Norm and I were discussing the topic for his video for this issue of The Effective Therapist, I had a million things going through my head regarding the traumatic situations that I hear about from clients who tell their stories with the underlying belief that what happened is neither right nor wrong. I immediately recognized the issues that come up for clients regarding this expression and realized how many times I hear this exact thing. As the discussion proceeded, I also recognized what a huge problem this belief is when it comes to being psychologically abused or manipulated by someone else.
It can be perfectly correct to say and believe that some things are a matter of perspective, but in the cases of manipulation or psychological abuse, the expression of events or opinions not being right or wrong gets really mixed up in the minds of many people. Another problem that factors into this issue is that clients downplay the things they most need to talk about in therapy. I know this because so many of them tell me things
To Your Success,
Darlene

How To Share Your Knowledge Using Video
As you know from my previous posts, I encourage you to share your expertise. It may be in the form of a traditional blog or a podcast. However, another way to get your message out there is through a video blog. Vlogs, as they are referred to on the internet, are increasingly popular, especially with the explosion of YouTube.
The great thing about your content is that you are adding to the health and well being of our society, versus some of the useless, meaningless information that can be found. You can be proud that what you do is making a difference and having impact.
Warmly, Tammy Tammy Morales owns and operates an internet marketing business and a successful graphic arts company. She also is the Chief Operating Officer for I.M.A.G.E. Inc.

Your Online Presence with James Friesen
Looking Good in Google (Part 2)
This is a series on how to make your website Google-friendly to maximize your search engine presence.
October's Tip: It's All in the Title
Your page title is very important to both your visitors and to Google. Not only does your page title display in the top bar of your visitor's browser, but it is also the text that Google uses as its main link when displaying your site in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).
For your visitors, the page title should be a clear, succinct heading for what the main content of the page is about. It should contain the key words that distinguish the main concepts of the content of your page. This is doubly important because this is exactly what Google is looking for as well. Google ranks the text in the Title as the most important words for that page, so your key words need to be there, and they need to relate to the content of the page.
One last tip... to get included in more search results, make sure to use common words that people are searching for, not some proper noun that you have created for marketing purposes but no one knows about. For example use "New York Pizza" instead of "Antonio's Pepperoni Pies" if it's really pizza you are selling.
