You already have a thriving practice and your schedule is booked solid; so why would you consider offering your services online?
Some believe that starting an online practice is for those that are just starting out in the world of therapy. However, that couldn't be farther from the truth.
While at the Canadian Counselling Association National Conference, May 19-22, 2009, I talked with many new and experienced therapists. Many of those with established practices commented to us that they get weekly requests from their current clients to offer their services in an online format.
Clients are looking for a convenient, safer and easier way to get the help they need. Clients are driving this new wave and many experienced therapists are recognizing the need to move to an online format.
So how do you take an already full schedule and add online therapy? Well it doesn't have to be difficult. I recommend the following steps:
- If you are not yet a member of IMAGEFaceToFace.com, take a moment to sign up and start your 30 day free trial. You will receive unlimited access to your 2 seat web conference room.
- Login to your web conference room, review the FAQs and then invite a friend or family member so you can get comfortable with the conference room features.
- As you meet with your clients over the next couple weeks, let them know you are now offering your services online if they would prefer to meet with you that way. Assure them that it replicates the in person session and is secure. Let them know that you require them to have a webcam and headset/mic.
- In your present office location and website post information about your new service, encouraging your new clients to discuss the option with you.
You may be surprised how many of them are excited about the possibilities. You may even discover that they become more flexible in their scheduling now that they no longer have to travel to your office. Things like their job or having young kids at home are no longer huge obstacles to overcome.
Many employers are thrilled to know that their employees can get access to the therapy services they require without significant downtime.
Start today and take your time.
Just think, soon you may find that you can provide your therapy while living at your beach house!
Warmly,
Tammy Morales
