There are a lot of questions from practicing therapists about the emerging field of online counseling. In the podcast audio interview "Identifying Complexities in the New Field of Technology Assisted Counselling Therapy", I interview therapist and researcher specializing in online counseling, Dr. Stephen Goss and we discuss many of the concerns that counseling therapists and mental health professionals have.
The podcast begins with a discussion the new terminology and the current variety of delivery modalities used by the professionals in the mental health field.
Stephen shares his extensive knowledge about malpractice insurance; the attitudes affecting this industry and what the future may hold.
On the matter of security, we discuss the importance of the type of precautions necessary for both client and therapist in this growing field of distance therapy.
Jurisdictional issues are a very big concern to mental health professionals looking into online counseling and Dr Goss identifies key issues that practitioners need to be aware of in order to practice globally.
Please listen to this informative podcast and let me know what you think. I look forward to your feedback.
